Lenovo’s New K80 Smartphone Is The Latest To Get 4GB Of RAM

Lenovo is on a roll of late with new devices coming out of its sheds more frequently. Today's launch event took place in China and saw the arrival of the new K80 handset.

Sporting 4GB of RAM, this seems to be the company's answer to the ASUS ZenFone 2, which had the privilege of being the first smartphone to pack 4GB of RAM by default. Although the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro also has 4GB of RAM, it's still not available on a wider scale yet.

The Lenovo K80 is a specs powerhouse and comes with a handful of other features which will make it tough to beat in the midrange segment. Read on for the full specs sheet of the K80:

· 8.5mm thickness

· 13MP camera with optical image stabilization

· 64-bit Intel ATOM processor (quad core 1.8 GHz)

· 4GB RAM

· 64GB internal storage

· Android 5.0 Lollipop

· 4,000 mAh battery

Lenovo will also have a model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage for a fraction of the price, which is worth a look if you're not drawn by the excess RAM capacity.

The Lenovo K80 with 4GB of RAM has been priced at 1,799 CNY or Rs. 18,484, while the 2GB RAM variant will cost 1,499 CNY or Rs. 15,411. The smartphone will be available for purchase in China starting April 30 and Lenovo is yet to offer details on a global launch.
