Google's Chrome browser has overtaken Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) to become the most popular web interface in the US.


According to a study conducted by software maker Adobe System, Google browsers have surpassed IE's U.S. market share for the number of visits to Google Chrome from computer and mobile devices. 

Google's Chrome and Android browsers won 31.8% of the combined desktop and mobile browser market while IE secured 30.9% market share. Apple's Safari remained at 25%, the study said. 

Google has also gained significant market share in the PC space. Thanks to its latest mobile devices, Google is a strong contender in the race to capture the mobile market as well.
