Twitter Introduces A WhatsApp Share Button In Its Android App

Microblogging service Twitter has now added a WhatsApp share button in its new version of official Android app. The button that appears once you open an individual tweet, allows you to directly share it on WhatsApp.

Earlier, users had to click on the share button and select the WhatsApp option. Now, the latest version of the app negates these extra steps so that users can directly WhatsApp the tweet.

With the growing popularity and vast user base of WhatsApp, it seems Twitter has taken a right decision to reach more people.

We have heard about a 'Share to WhatsApp' button in the past, but this is the first official appearance on a third-party app.

However, the new feature is available to users using the version 5.15.0 of the Twitter mobile app. You can go to the app and tap settings to check the version of your Twitter mobile app. If you are one of those yet to get the new version, you are suggested to update the app.

According to recent reports, Twitter is also known to be testing a new way of retweeting called 'retweet with comment.' With this new feature, a retweet will be converted into an image or card and the user will get 140 characters to express their views before adding it to their timeline. (Image: The Next Web)
